Self Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) yani kendi kendine kontrol, analiz ve raporlama teknolojisi, günümüzde istinasız her modern disk tarafından desteklenen bir teknolojidir. S.M.A.R.T. verilerini görebilmek için diskinizin bu özelliği desteklemesi ve BIOS'ta S.M.A.R.T. desteğinin açık (enable) olması gerekir.
Eger son birkaç yıl içerisinde üretilmiş olan bir diskin çok büyük ihtimalle S.M.A.R.T. desteği vardır.
